Maruti Brezza CNG Launching Very Soon; Bookings Open

 Maruti Suzuki has started accepting pre-bookings for the Brezza CNG version that’s expected to go on sale in coming weeks. The model, which was spotted at dealer stockyards in late 2022, made its public debut at the 2023 Auto Expo. For power, the Maruti Brezza CNG uses the same 1.5L K15C petrol engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit. In this setup, it returns a peak power of 88PS and 121.5Nm of torque.

Compared to the regular petrol motor that’s good for 102bhp and 137Nm, the SUV’s CNG version is slightly less powerful. Though, it will offer more mileage. The Maruti Brezza CNG promises a fuel efficiency of 27km/kg. The regular petrol model delivers 19.80kmpl with automatic gearbox and 20.15kmpl with manual transmission.

As per the leaked information, Maruti Suzuki will offer CNG kit on all variants of the Brezza. There will be a total of 7 CNG variants, namely, CNG LXI 5MT, CNG VXI 5MT/6AT, CNG ZXI 5MT/6AT and CNG ZXI 5MT/6T. Buyers will get both manual and automatic gearbox options. The factory-fitted CNG kit, however, will eat up some boot space.

No changes have been made to its design and interior. The Maruti Brezza CNG comes with a 9.0-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, Alexa compatibility, voice command support, Heads-Up Display, ambient lighting, wireless charging, connected car tech, rear AC vents, a 360 degree parking camera, Arkamys sound system, USB Type-C and Type-A rear charging ports, hill hold assist, electronic stability program, 6 airbags and more.

Besides the Brezza CNG, the Indo-Japanese automaker has lined-up the Fronx compact crossover and Jimny 5-door SUV. While the Maruti Fronx will hit showrooms in April, the Jimny lifestyle SUV will see a release in the month of May. Reports suggest that the company will also introduce its first Toyota’s re-badged model during 2023 festive season. It will be a 7-seater hybrid MPV based on the Innova Hycross.
